As a child, I was always fascinated by science. I wanted to become a scientist for many years before shifting to art: my days were spent collecting science encyclopedias and textbooks. Particularly, though, I was interested in the unknown — is there existing life besides on Earth? What are exoplanets, and are there any in habitable zones that may be suitable for life? In addition to this interest in space, I was obsessed with GirlsGoGames, a gaming website aimed towards little girls with a color palette that was primarily pink – my favorite color. In the past couple of years, I’ve also been inspired by GeoCities and website building of the early 2000s. I wanted this project to be a sort of homage to myself, blending my interests of space, art, and technology, particularly an expansion of a planet simulator I made in 5th grade on Scratch.
